Konrad Fijołek

Mayor, City of Rzeszów

Konrad Fijołek was born in 1976 in Rzeszów. He is a graduate of the 4th Secondary School named after Nicolaus Copernicus University in Rzeszów and the Faculty of Sociology of the Pedagogical University of Rzeszów. In 2018, he obtained the title of Executive Master of Business Administration from Apsley Business School of London.
In the years 1998 – 2021, councilor of the city of Rzeszów. In the years 2006–2010, chairman of the Rzeszów City Council, and since 2010, vice-chairman of the Rzeszów City Council.
For many years, he has been creating numerous initiatives for the benefit of residents. In 2015, he established one of the first urban movements in Rzeszów – “Rzeszów Smart City”. The movement has become, among other things, a promoter of the use of modern technologies in city management.
He is a co-author of the pioneering Urban Lab project, an urban laboratory in the center of Rzeszów. A place open to ambitious and creative people who want to influence the quality of life in the city. A team of scientists, people from non-governmental organizations and business helps in this. All this to solve local problems and make life easier for the local community.
On June 13, 2021, he won the early elections for the Mayor of Rzeszów in the first round.
